i actually had time to sleep (3 hours), take a long, hot shower, paint my face, pick clothes, and put on booties.
obviously someone up there thought that surely that's too good to be true.
you see, after i chucked the submission CD into the assignment chute, i happily skipped to the mall, and zoomed towards nine west for that shoe.
and found that i was short by $4 in cash.
and for some retarded reason, my debit card didn't work.
or the credit card.
sales girl was giving me sad, i-pity-you look. i told her i'd run to the atm machine. she smiled and said would hold shoe for me.
ran to atm machine.
card declined.
weeped.
called cherie, who came to save the day. poor girl was happily flipping through books on lygon and trammed all the way to the city.
she is sweetest person in world who said she'll come save me even if i was short by 1cent.
everyone needs a cherie in their life. thank you for being my superwoman! you are numero dos after momma.
anyway, i'm thinking: with said shoes.

but may potentially look like asian seafood (lala). so. perhaps not with cute grey socks. but do tell me what you guys think. with that said, i'm crazy into these kinds of platform-heeled sandals now! (perhaps two seasons too late, winter's fast approaching) i swear to you, they are so bloody comfortable and light and you won't be limping away an hour later.
also very inspired by the fantastic miss hong and want to take fashion pictures but:
1. am terribly unphotogenic, i kid you not
2. can't bring myself to ask someone else to take a picture of me.
so here are my questions:
1. is it possible to carry out cute socks with aforementioned shoes?
2. how does one appear photogenic in fashion pictures?!
p.s. i want to introduce my new favourite fashion blogging website - park&cube - i love her style & her pictures! (perhaps want to get pictures taken like her, youknow, the 'i'm-so-shy-please-don't-take-my-picture-ok-fine-if-you-say-so-take-my-picture-giggle' kind of way.)
update: okay, i tried to take a picture... excuse the mess in the background! i was just out for dinner with some friends & had on old t-shirt - so lazy me put on a skirt, tights, black flats - and dashed out the house. came home and decided to try on shoes - the mother says that it doesn't go very well with black and would like to see it with grey socks.

btw, the platforms are soooo pretty!!! and cherie, the story makes me want to give u a bigbig hug ahhaha! platform + socks - something i've been seeing a lot around fashion blogs lately (started by alexa chung?), was a bit skeptical abt it at first (looks like what my sloppy dad would wear - sandals and socks, and my mum would refuse to go out with him) but nowadays i think it looks kinda cute...so im def gonna try them out hahaha. show some pics dear! if u're shy getting people to take pics of u, use a self-timer - i find my shots are a lot more natural when i do that...i just get so nervous when other ppl take my photos!

we have to wear socks and shoes here all the time just cause its too cold. ribbed and patterned socks (esp wt little bows) are cute. but I am really really really annoyed that clogs are coming back into fashion.
oh manda, forgot to add - if u want anything from h&m do lemmi know! and that grey top i wore is just 5 euros! do u want it? comes in black and white/white and orange stripes too. lmk! ;)
truthfully i think they're really weird hahahaa but do take a pic with u in them and show us. then mayb i would change my mind.
btw you're very photogenic.. so dont b shy and just go for it. doesnt matter if u need a thousand shots to get it perfect. thats wad friends are for... esp to save u from a shoe dilema

oh no, now i can't get the image of old man in socks pulled up and sandals and relate it to this! but i definitely want to give this look a try - i always see you in oxfords now, do thrift shops have cool platform heels too?

thanks for the offer to get the top for me - but there's a h&m in shanghai (you're going too right, so you can go crazy there too!) and apparently its dead cheap so i'll probably stock up my empty suitcase over there! thanks again!

cheryl: if you wear these, you'll be 6" tall! so nono for you! but i can imagine you with ballet flats/ballet mary janes with sheer slightly above ankle length socks (aka wishwishwish) - do give that a go, i think will be uber adorable on you! & cherie will be my paparazzi and i hers when we're both in shanghai heeheehee.

manda.. i've been seeing the said socks with wedges alot online and i have to say.. im falling in love with them. have you tried it? does it look fab?? i think it would look gorgeous with those new wedges of yours.. i know its too cold for it now but take do take a pic of you wearing them!!
